Box Score 2 JOPLIN — The Missouri Southern State University softball team swept a doubleheader from Pittsburg State University Saturday (Mar. 24) at the Pat Lipira Softball Complex in Joplin, Mo. The Lions defeated the Gorillas, 6-4 and 4-2.
Pitt State dropped to 13-22 overall, while Missouri Southern improved to 14-20 overall.
Emily Clark led the Gorillas in game one, going 2-for-3 with two hits and two RBI's. Kristen Van Hoosen also hit a RBI single.
In the nightcap, the Lions limited Pitt State to just two hits. Alicia Lowrey led the Gorillas going 1-for-3.
Pitt State will be back in action on Tuesday (Mar. 27) for a doubleheader against Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Mo. The first-pitch is set for 3:00 p.m.
