Box Score 2 PITTSBURG — The Pittsburg State University softball team swept a doubleheader from Lincoln University Wednesday (Apr. 18). The Gorillas defeated the Blue Tigers, 10-1 and 19-1.
Pitt State improved to 21-30 overall and 11-11 in MIAA play, while Lincoln dropped to 5-39 overall and 0-22 in MIAA play.
Kristen Van Hoosen led the Gorillas in game one, going 2-for-5 with two runs scored and five RBI's. Emily Clark went 2-for-3 with two runs scored.
In the nightcap, the Gorillas limited Lincoln to just seven hits. Kala Holder led the Gorillas going 3-for-3 with one grand slam and six RBI's.
Pitt State will be back in action on Friday (Apr. 20) for a doubleheader against Northeastern State in Tahlequah, Okla. The first-pitch is set for 2:00 p.m.
