PITTSBURG — The Pittsburg State University softball team will host MIAA rival Fort Hays State University in a non-conference doubleheader Friday (Mar. 1) at the PSU Softball Complex. The Gorillas added the twinbill to the schedule after losing a road doubleheader scheduled against Oklahoma Christian University due to inclement weather earlier in the week.
First pitch against FHSU is set for 2 p.m. (CST)Â
Friday.
The Gorillas are 7-6 on the season. Pitt State is scoring 5.6 runs per game and batting .283 as a team on the young season. Pitt State pitchers have a 3.29 team ERA.
Junior second baseman Kaity Kukowski leads the squad with a .409 batting average. She has four home runs and 11 RBIs to date. Senior designated player Alicia Lowrey is hitting .378 with seven doubles and 12 RBIs. Junior righthander Halle Brin has a 4-3 record with two saves and a 1.94 ERA in 11 appearances on the mound.
