PITTSBURG – The Pittsburg State University softball team will host Southwest Baptist University for an MIAA doubleheader Tuesday (Apr. 16). First pitch is set for 2 p.m. (CDT) at the PSU Softball Complex.
The Gorillas are 21-24 on the season and 9-11 in MIAA action. Pitt State is currently tied for 10th place (with Nebraska-Kearney) in the MIAA standings.
The Gorillas enter Tuesday's action scoring 5.0 runs per game and batting .281 as a team on the season. Pitt State pitchers have a 4.22 team ERA.
Junior infielder Kala Holder leads the squad with a .405 batting average. She has 14 doubles and 29 RBIs to date. Kaity Kukowski is hitting .329 with ten home runs and 32 RBIs. Junior righthander Halle Brin has a 12-12 record with three saves and a 3.16 ERA in 36 appearances on the mound.
Southwest Baptist will bring a 5-36 overall record and a 2-12 MIAA mark into Tuesday's action.
