Gorillas to Host Jennies in MIAA Mid-Week Action

PITTSBURG – The Pittsburg State University softball team will host the University of Central Missouri for an MIAA doubleheader Tuesday (Apr. 9). 
 
First pitch for Pitt State's twinbill against UCM is set for 2 p.m. (CDT) at the PSU Softball Complex.
 
The Gorillas are 18-21 on the season and 6-8 in MIAA action. Following its twinbill sweep against Lincoln last Saturday, Pitt State has climbed into a tie for 10th place in the MIAA standings. 

The Gorillas enter Tuesday's action scoring 5.0 runs per game and batting .275 as a team on the season. Pitt State pitchers have a 3.98 team ERA.

Junior infielder Kala Holder leads the squad with a .394 batting average. She has 12 doubles and 25 RBIs to date. Kaity Kukowski is hitting .328 with eight home runs and 27 RBIs. Junior righthander Halle Brin has a 10-10 record with three saves and a 2.73 ERA in 30 appearances on the mound.

Central Missouri will bring a 22-12 overall record and an 8-2 MIAA mark into Tuesday's twinbill against Pitt State.The Jennies are alone in second place in the MIAA standings.
