PITTSBURG — The Pittsburg State University softball team will make a return trip to Oklahoma City to take part in another weekend tournament. The Gorillas will face a pair of opponents in OKC on the campus of Oklahoma Christian University Friday (Feb. 21) and wrap up the weekend action Saturday (Feb. 22) in Edmond, Okla., with two more contests.

On Friday, the Gorillas will face St. Mary's University at 10 a.m. (CST) and the host school, Oklahoma Christian, at 4 p.m. On Saturday, Pitt State will battle Midwestern State University at 10 a.m. and Cameron University at 2 p.m.

Pitt State and OCU met previously in Oklahoma City on Feb. 8 with the Eagles rallying late for a 10-9 victory over the Gorillas. Saturday's action will mark the third meeting of the season for Pitt State and Cameron. The Aggies beat the Gorillas, 4-0, on Feb. 2 at Conroe, Texas, and 7-5 on Feb. 9 at Edmond, Okla.

The Gorillas are 3-11 on the season. Pitt State is seeking to halt a six-game losing streak.
 
Entering weekend play senior infielder Makenzie Goswick leads the team with a .412 batting average. Goswick also leads the team in hits (14) and doubles (5). Senior infielder, Kaity Kukowski, has enjoyed a productive offensive start to the season, leading the squad in slugging percentage (.610), on-base percentage (.420), runs scored (11), home runs (3) and RBIs (10). As a team, the Gorillas are hitting .223 and scoring 3.9 runs per game.
 
Pitt State pitchers carry a 7.75 ERA into the weekend action. Shelby Smith (1-5, 6.02 ERA) and Kaylee Burnett (1-5, 7.08 ERA) each have made six starts in the circle for the Gorillas.
