PITTSBURG – The Pittsburg State University softball team will play a pair of doubleheaders this week, hosting Emporia State Tuesday (Mar. 16) and Southwest Baptist Wednesday (Mar. 17). First pitch is set for 2 p.m. both days at the PSU Softball Complex.
The Gorillas are 4-10 on the season. Emporia is 10-2 and SBU is 1-11. The twinbill against the Lady Hornets will be the MIAA opening action of the season for both squads.
Pitt State is batting .243 and scoring 3.4 runs a game. Sophomore outfielder Kylee Bohle leads the team with .348 batting average. Bohle has put up 16 hits on the season including two doubles and two triples. She has driven in three runs.
Junior Taylor Compton leads the Gorillas in the circle with a 3.85 ERA and a 2-2 record on the season. Freshman Hannah Harrison has put up a 3.00 ERA in seven innings in the young season.
