Softball to Host SBU Wednesday

PITTSBURG — The Pittsburg State University softball team will play host to Southwest Baptist University for its final non-conference games of the season Wednesday (Mar. 31). First pitch is set for 2 p.m. at the PSU Softball Complex.
 
The Gorillas head into the action against the Bearcats on a six-game skid after losing a doubleheader to Missouri Southern Saturday (Mar. 27). Pitt State is 8-16 on the season (4-4 MIAA).
 
Left fielder Kylee Bohle leads the Gorillas at the plate with a .329 batting average. Bohle has hit six doubles, two triples and two home runs. She also has notched 11 RBIs and scored 15 runs so far this season. Right fielder Paxtyn Hayes and catcher Audrey Miller lead the team in long balls with four a piece thus far.
 
In the circle Pitt State is led by Kaylee Burns who has put up a 3.50 ERA this season. Burns as amassed a 4-6 record including four complete games. She is followed by junior Taylor Compton who has a 5.57 ERA and a 2-3 record. 
 
SBU come into the series with a 2-20 record on the season. The Lady Bearcats are currently riding a six-game losing streak.
