Pitt State Softball to Face Drury in Road Doubleheader Tuesday


PITTSBURG -- The Pittsburg State University softball team will travel to Springfield, Mo., Tuesday (Mar. 9) to face Drury University in a doubleheader starting at 3 p.m. (CST) at Thompson Field at Meador Park.

The Gorillas are 4-8 on the season after posting a 1-3 record at the Pitt State Classic last weekend. Drury is 4-5 on the young season.

Pitt State is batting .239 as a team and scoring 3.7 runs per game. Junior outfielder Kylee Bohle and senior infielder Kaity Kukowski lead the squad with .333 batting averages. Sophomore outfielder Keelah Griffith has a team-leading three home runs and 10 RBIs to her credit.

Junior Taylor Compton leads the Pitt State pitching staff with a 2-2 record and a 3.85 ERA in five starts in the circle. Senior Kaylee Burns is 1-3 with a 5.08 ERA in five starts as well.
