PITTSBURG – The Pittsburg State University softball team will travel to Oklahoma to take on Central Oklahoma in doubleheader action. First pitch with the Bronchos is set for 1 p.m.
The Gorillas enter the matchup with a 13-21 record and 7-9 in the MIAA. The Bronchos enter a top the MIAA with a 27-9 record and 16-4 in the conference. Central Oklahoma enter the matchup ranked 16
th in the country.
Pitt State is hitting .264 as a team on the season and averages 4.2 runs per game. At the plate the Gorillas are lead by first baseman Kami Zimmerman who has put up a .313 average on the season. Zimmerman has also notched 14 RBIs with two doubles and two home runs.
In the circle the Gorillas are lead by senior Kaylee Burns, with a 3.45 ERA on the season. Burns has pitched her way to a 7-8 record with six complete games. Burns is followed by junior Taylor Compton with a 4.67 ERA.
