Box Score Bentonville, Ark. – The Pittsburg State University softball team opened day two of the Alvy Early Classic with a commanding 19-3 win over Quincy University.

The Gorillas would come out of the gates fast scoring 13 runs in the first inning thanks in part to home runs by outfielders Kylee Bohle and Paxtyn Hayes. Pitt State would continue from there scoring three more runs in the second inning to take a 16-0 lead.

Both teams would score three runs in its half of the fourth inning to give the game a final score of 19-3.

The victory marks the largest margin of victory for the Gorillas since 2015, (March 13, 2015 vs. Nebraska-Kearney, 19-3).

The Gorillas return tomorrow (Feb. 13) for its final day in Bentonville, Ark to take on Wayne State University (Neb.) at 11 a.m. and Harding University to follow.
