PITTSBURG — The Pittsburg State University softball team has altered its weekend schedule. The Gorillas originally were scheduled to play in St. Joseph, Mo., Friday through Saturday (Mar. 18-20), but anticipated rain showers in northwest Missouri have forced the changes.
Pitt State will now play a pair of home games Saturday and Sunday at the Pitt State Softball Complex against Minnesota State University and the University of Sioux Falls (S.D.).
The Gorillas will take on Minnesota State at 10 a.m. Saturday and 12:15 p.m. Sunday; and Pitt State will battle USF at 12:15 p.m. and 4:45 p.m. Sunday.
The Mavericks and Cougars also will play games against the University of Central Oklahoma both days.
Pitt State will enter the weekend action with a 17-8 overall record. The Gorillas are 9-2 in their last 11 games. Pitt State is batting .360 as a team and scoring 8.0 runs per game, both second-best in the MIAA to date.
Live Stats will be available for three of the four Pitt State games. No Live Stats will be available for the Gorillas match-up against USF on Sunday. There will be no Live Stats for games not involving Pitt State.
