PITTSBURG – The Pittsburg State University softball team heads to Oklahoma for two MIAA series first against Rogers State University on Friday (Mar. 25) in Claremore Okla. The Gorillas will then travel to Tahlequah, Okla. for a doubleheader against Northeastern State University on Saturday (Mar. 26).

The Gorillas enter the weekend with a 21-8 overall 3-1 MIAA record. Pitt State heads to Oklahoma riding a five game win streak. The Gorillas currently sit fourth in the MIAA standings behind Rogers State.

Scouting the Gorillas
- At the plate Taylor Lambert has posted a .541 in 98 at bats. Lambert has posted 53 hits including seven doubles and four home runs. The Gorillas second baseman has also stole 18 bases.
- Paxtyn Hayes has notched a .421 average while leading the team in long balls with nine on the season. Hayes has also posted 10 doubles on the season
- Inside the circle Hannah Harrison leads the Gorillas with a 11-2 record and a 2.71 ERA. Harrison has gone eight complete games including two shutouts and a no-hitter.
- Behind Harrison is Taylor Compton who has amassed a 2-0 record and a 2.85 ERA. Compton has also added two saves to her resume this season.

Scouting the Opponents
- Rogers State enters Friday with a 22-2 record and is currently ranked No. 4 in the latest NFCA Division II Softball Poll. The Hillcats enter the game with an eight game win streak.
- Northeastern State enters the week with a 12-15 record. The RiverHawks sit 12th in the MIAA.
