Gorilla Softball Falls to RiverHawks in Doubleheader

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Tahlequah, Okla. – The Pittsburg State University softball team fell in doubleheader action to RiverHawks, 4-0, 7-5.

The Gorillas would struggle from the plate all day, starting in game one as RiverHawks pitcher Gail Young would toss a no-hitter against the Gorillas. Pitt State's only base runner would come off of a RiverHawk error. In game two of the day the Gorillas would continue to struggle at the plate notching six hits on the day. The Gorillas would lead most of the way until a three run 6th inning for the RiverHawks would find the Gorillas down 7-5. Northeastern would hold off Pitt State for the victory.

In game two Taylor Lambert would go two for four with a run under her belt. Hannah Harrison would go four and 1/3 inning allowing four hits and four runs.

The Gorillas return to Pittsburg for a weekend matchup with Fort Hays State University (Apr. 1) and the University of Nebraska Kearney (Apr. 2).
