Gorillas Travel for MIAA Matchup with Lady Hornets, Ichabods

PITTSBURG – The Pittsburg State University softball team sets its sights on a pair of road matchups against Emporia State University Friday (Apr. 15) and Washburn University Saturday (Apr. 16).
 
The Gorillas and Lady Hornets will take the field at 3 p.m. for a doubleheader. Pitt State and Washburn will start the doubleheader at 1 p.m.
 
Scouting the Gorillas
  • The Gorillas enter the weekend with a 21-18 overall record and a 3-11 record in the MIAA.
  • Pitt State currently sits second in the MIAA in batting average with a .337 team average on the season.
  • Taylor Lambert still leads the MIAA in batting average with a .473 average this season. Lambert also ranks 12th in Division II this season.
 
Scouting the Opponents
  • Emporia State enters the weekend with a 20-22 overall record and a 9-7 record in conference.
  • Washburn enters the weekend with a 32-11 overall record and a 14-2 record in conference. Washburn currently sits 3rd in the MIAA standings.
