Pitt State Softball Travels to Missouri to take on MWSU, NWMSU

PITTSBURG – The Pittsburg State University softball team will travel into Missouri for matchups with Missouri Western State University and Northwest Missouri State University starting Friday (Apr. 22).
 
The Gorillas and Griffons will take the field on Friday (Apr. 22) at 3 p.m. for a doubleheader. Pitt State and Northwest will start Saturday (Apr. 23) at noon for the doubleheader.
 
Scouting the Gorillas
  • The Gorillas enter the weekend with a 22-21 record and a 4-14 MIAA record in 2022.
  • Pitt State currently sits in 12th in the MIAA standings one spot above Northwest Missouri.
  • At the plate the Gorillas are lead by Taylor Lambert who has posted a .472 batting average this season.
  • Lambert is followed closely by Paxtyn Hayes who has posted a .397 average, including a team leading 13 doubles and 10 home runs on the season.
  • In the circle Pitt State is lead by Hannah Harrison who has posted a 3.28 ERA and an 11-5 record on the season.
  • Harrison has allowed 108 hits in 100.3 inning of work this season.
 
Scouting the Opponents
  • The Griffons enter the weekend with a 19-20 overall record and a 9-9 record in the MIAA.
  • Missouri Western currently sits in 8th in the MIAA standings.
  • The Bearcats currently hold a 9-34 record and a 3-15 record in the MIAA.
