Gorillas Set to Host Wendy’s/PSU Invitational Saturday

PITTSBURG — The Pittsburg State University men's and women's indoor track & field teams will host the Wendy's/PSU Invitational Saturday (Jan. 28) at the Robert W. Plaster Center.

Field events will start at 10 a.m. (CST) with action on the track beginning at 11 a.m. More than 1,000 athletes from 32 schools from the junior college, NAIA, NCAA Division II and NCAA Division I ranks will join the Gorillas in the competition. MIAA foes Emporia State, Missouri Southern and Washburn will compete in the meet.
 
The Pitt State men enter the meet as the No. 1 team in NCAA Division II after Gorillas athletes have posted 10 national top-10 marks in the squad's first two meets. The Pitt State debuted at No. 4 in the season's first national poll thanks to Gorillas athletes posting seven national top-10 marks to date.

Admission to each meet is $5 per day. Children 12 & under are free as are PSU students with I.D.
