SHAWNEE, Okla. — Grace Pyle and Jenna Shipley combined for 37 points to help lead the Pittsburg State University women's basketball team to a 67-47 victory over Southwestern Oklahoma State University in day two action of the MIAA/GAC Challenge Saturday (Nov. 11).
Pyle made seven of 15 shots from the floor and hit four 3-pointers in finish with a team-leading 21 points. She also added eight rebounds and three steals in the contest. Shipley chipped in with 16 points on six of 11 shooting from the field in the contest.
The Gorillas (2-0) also got eight points from Macie Mays and a game high 12 rebounds from Harper Schreiner.
Pitt State owned the glass for a second straight game, outrebounding SWOSU (1-1), 59-34, as the Lady Bulldogs made just 21.1 percent (15-71) of their shots from the floor.
Pitt State will return to action Nov. 16 when the Gorillas travel to Russellville, Ark., to battle Arkansas Tech University.
