KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Pittsburg State University junior infielder Paxtyn Hayes has been named the MIAA Hitter of the Week for softball Monday (Feb. 20).
 
Hayes had a monster weekend for the Gorillas, batting .692 with two doubles, four home runs and 19 RBI while leading the Gorillas to a 4-0 record. The Greenwood, Ark., native went 9-for-13 at the plate in the four games played in the Pitt State Triangular. She hit for the cycle in home runs between the games, belting a grand slam, a three-run homer, a two-run homer and a solo shot. She slugged 1.769 in the four contests.
 
Hays went 3-for-3 with a double, two HRs and six RBI in a 10-2 win vs. Drury Saturday (Feb. 18). She also went 3-for-3 with a double, a home run and six RBI in a 12-1 win against Wayne State (Neb.) Sunday (Feb. 19).
