PITTSBURG — Pittsburg State University head softball coach Jenny Fuller announced the recent signing of three players – Alleyna Rushing, Sydney Sneed and Courtney Storey – have signed letters of intent to join the Gorillas for the 2024 season.
Rushing, an outfielder, will have sophomore eligibility next spring and comes to PSU from NCAA Division II member Oklahoma Baptist University. The Bentonville, Ark., native started in 18 of 38 games played for the Bison, hitting .276 with 12 runs scored and eight stolen bases on the season. She helped Bentonville High School to consecutive Arkansas Class 6A state titles in 2021 and 2022, while earning All-State honors her senior prep year.
Sneed, a catcher/utility player, will transfer to Pitt State from Drury University. She will be a fifth-year graduate player for the Gorillas. The Bentonville, Ark., native compiled a .312 batting average in 123 career games for the Panthers with 12 doubles, five home runs and 37 RBI. Sneed was a two-time All-Conference performer at Bentonville West High School as well as an Arkansas Class 7A All-State Tournament Team selection in 2017.
Storey, an outfielder, joins the Gorillas from D2 Southern Arkansas University. The Rogers, Ark., native hit .305 with 14 doubles and 34 RBI for the Muleriders this past spring. She was a two-time NJCAA All Region 16 selection at Crowder College as well as the Region 16 Player of the Year in 2022. Storey batted .426 with 44 doubles, 19 home runs, 44 stolen bases and 147 RBI while at Crowder. She was a two-time Arkansas Class 6A All-State performer at Rogers High School.
"We are excited about the addition of transfers Alleyna Rushing, Sydney Sneed and Courtney Storey," Fuller said. "Alleyna is a speedy outfielder and can cover a lot of ground. She has regional experience. Her versatility at the plate will make her a huge asset in the lineup. Sydney is a big stick to add to our lineup. She is an experienced player that has performed at a high level. Courtney is a proven player with a ton of experience. She competes at a high level and will make an immediate on our impact on our team."
