CHICOPEE, Kan. — The Pittsburg State University women's and men's cross country teams hosted their annual Alumni Meet Saturday (Aug. 26) at Countryside Golf Course.

Redshirt junior Kate Dawson paced the field in the women's three-mile race. She crossed the finish line in 17 minutes, 43 seconds. Freshman Page Mullen finished a close second in 17:44, while redshirt junior Marissa Dick placed third overall in 17:49. Piper Misse paced the alumni with an 10th-place time of 20:32.
 
In the men's four-mile race, alumni Diego Contreras claimed victory in 19:41, nine seconds ahead of redshirt freshman Tyler Atkins (19:50). Redshirt senior Mason Strader finished third in 20:11.
 
The Gorillas will open regular season action on Friday, Sept. 15, at the MSSU Stampede at Joplin, Mo.
