CHICOPEE, Kan. — The Pittsburg State University women's and men's cross country teams hosted their annual Alumni Meet Saturday (Aug. 23) at Countryside Golf Course.

Junior Paige Mullen paced the field in the women's three-mile race. She crossed the finish line in 16 minutes, 50 seconds. Redshirt sophomore Hannah Gibson finished a close second in 16:52, while sophomore Lorna Rae Pierce placed third overall in 17:39. Kate Strader paced the alumni with a 15th-place time of 20:20.
 
In the men's four-mile race, redshirt junior Dylan Sprecker claimed victory in 19:26, 19 seconds ahead of redshirt junior Tyler Atkins (19:45). Redshirt senior Travis Sickles finished third in 19:55. Matthew Oglesby paced the alumni with a 16th place time of 23:23.
 
The Gorillas will open regular season action on Friday, Sept. 5, at the SBU Bearcat Invitational at Bolivar, Mo.
