Trochim Named MIAA Hitter of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Pittsburg State University redshirt junior infielder Kadyn Trochim was named the MIAA Hitter of the Week Monday (Apr. 8).

Trochim served as one of the offensive catalysts in the No. 10 ranked Gorillas doubleheader sweep over Missouri Southern State University Saturday (Apr. 6). The Waco, Texas native hit .800 in the twinbill, going 4-for-5 with her first two home runs of the season and seven RBI on the day. She finished the day with a .714 on-base percentage and a 2.000 slugging percentage.

Tochim went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI in Pitt State's 8-1 victory over the Lions in game one Saturday. She added a 2-for-2 performance with a home run and a career best five RBI in Pitt State's 13-4 run-rule victory in game two.

With the wins over MSSU, Pitt State improved to 38-4 on the season (12-2 MIAA).
