ST. JOESPH, Mo. - The Pittsburg State University women's volleyball team fell in four-sets to the Missouri Western State University Griffons on Friday (Oct. 17) at the MWSU Fieldhouse.
Missouri Western (14-5, 6-2 MIAA) claimed the match with set scores of 25-20, 18-25, 25-18, 25-23.
Pittsburg State (8-10, 2-6 MIAA) was led by
Vix Vilott with 13 kills (.367),
Maddi LaPointe (8),
Kassidy Nixon (7),
Maliyah Johnson (6) and
Anna Dean (6) rounded out the top-five hitters.
Jesa Wallace (21) and
Abby Carr (12) split setting duties while
Josie McCroskey collected a match-high 21 digs. LaPointe and Dean tied for the match lead with five total blocks.
Up next for the Gorillas will be the Northwest Missouri State University Bearcats on Saturday (Oct. 18), first serve from Bearcat Arena is set for 6:00 p.m. (CT).
