PITTSBURG – The Pittsburg State University women's cross country raced to its fourth straight conference crown Saturday (Oct. 25) as the Gorillas captured the 2025 MIAA Championships at Four Oaks Golf Course in Pittsburg.
The Gorillas placed three runners among the top six individuals and posted a score of 55 points in the meet to best second-place challenger Rogers State University (56 points) by a one-point margin.
Junior
Paige Mullen paced the Pitt State squad in the six-kilometer race by placing second overall in 21 minutes, 13.79 seconds. Redshirt sophomore
Hannah Gibson followed close behind in third place in 21:22.99, while sophomore
Lorna Rae Pierce placed sixth (21:44.65).

th, 22:25.06) and redshirt sophomore
Phoebe Fletcher (24
th, 22:34.40) rounded out the Gorillas top five finishers.
Fort Hays State University's Emily McCullough won the race in 20:57.80.
The Gorillas, who entered the meet ranked No. 18 in the USTFCCCA NCAA Division II Top 30 poll, claimed the program's 15th all-time MIAA Championship. Pitt State also secured conference crowns in 1991-93, 2001-03, 2010-11, 2017-19, 2022-24.
The Gorillas will now prepare for the 2025 NCAA Division II Central Regional, which will take place Nov. 8 at Joplin, Mo.
