FORT SMITH, Ark. - The Pittsburg State University women's volleyball team picked up a road conference win over the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith on Saturday (Nov. 8) at the Gayle Kaundart Arena.
For the Gorillas (12-13, 5-9 MIAA) the match was claimed against Arkansas - Fort Smith (13-14, 3-11 MIAA) with set scores of 25-21, 25-23, 25-22.
Leading the charge for the Gorillas on offense was
Maliyah Johnson with 15 kills (.371),
Anna Dean (12) and
Vix Vilott (11) were the other members of the team to finish in double figures for kills.
Jesa Wallace finished with a match-high 40 assists.
Kassidy Nixon and Vilott tied for the team lead with 11 digs followed by Wallace with 10. Dean finished with six total blocks to increase her season tally to 143, the fifth-best amount in program history.
With the win, Pitt State moves into sole possession of seventh in the MIAA standings with a game advantage over Fort Hays State.
