PITTSBURG – The Pittsburg State University softball team will continue conference action with a road doubleheader against No. 8 Rogers State University on Friday (Mar. 28) beginning at 3:00 p.m. (CDT) from the RCB Bank Sports Complex.

Pittsburg State enters the week with a 25-9 overall record and is 6-2 in the MIAA. The Gorillas are coming off a 4-2 week against Drury, Washburn and Emporia State, taking the conference games by a combined score of 42-8.

Leading the charge on offense is
Heather Arnett, hitting .538 with 64 hits, 47 runs scored, nine doubles, 20 runs driven in and 28 stolen bases.
Alleyna Rushing is batting .447 with 38 hits, 31 runs scored, 15 RBI and 15 stolen bases.
Courtney Storey leads the team with 41 runs driven in while hitting .420 with 42 hits and nine doubles. Ava Sarwinksi is hitting .352 with 25 hits, and 13 runs driven in.
Kadyn Trochim leads the team with 10 home runs while batting .340 with 35 runs driven in, 33 hits and 27 runs scored.
Kendall Forbes is hitting .328 with 24 runs, 19 hits and eight stolen bases.
Emily Ades rounds out the qualified batters and is hitting .321 with 17 hits, 13 runs scored and 10 RBI.
Amaya Snyder is hitting .406 with 26 hits, 21 RBI and 13 runs scored.

The senior catcher is hitting .520 with 51 hits, 32 runs scored, 12 doubles, seven home runs and 35 runs driven in. Kaylee Lyon is hitting .459 with 50 hits, 40 runs scored, 11 doubles, nine home runs and 22 RBI. McKayla Carney is hitting .382 with 34 hits, 30 runs scored and nine doubles. Chloe Bohuslavicky is averaging .373 with eight home runs and 31 runs driven in. Mariah Belzer (.330) and Callie Yellin (.320) round out the qualified hitters batting above .300.
