EMPORIA, Kan. -- Pittsburg State University multi event athletes opened action in the 2025 MIAA Outdoor Championships Friday (May 2) at Witten Track at Welch Stadium on the Emporia State University campus.
Payton Phillips completed day one action of the heptathlon in second place with 2,968 points, while
Maggie Salsbury compiled 2,655 points to sit in fifth place after day one. Phillips tied for first place in the high jump (5-0.5) and clocked the second-fastest time in the 100-meter hurdles (14.45).
Chase Poague exited day one action in the decathlon in seventh place with 3,278 points.
On Saturday, the day begins with the completion of the heptathlon and decathlon and the full meet gets under way later in the day.
