PITTSBURG — Pittsburg State University senior Blakelee Winn claimed victory in the Boo Rogers Combined Events Friday (Dec. 5) at the Robert W. Plaster Center.

Winn compiled 3889 points between the five disciplines of the 60m hurdles, high jump, shot put, long jump and 800 meters. She placed first overall in the field of nine competitors in the 60m hurdles (8.53), shot put (44-5) and long jump (18-5.25) and finished third overall in the high jump.

Sophomore Lily Brown placed third overall with 3,708 points, while junior Payton Phillips (3556 pts) and sophomore Maggie Salsbury (3463 pts) finished sixth and seventh, respectively. All three athletes hit personal best point totals.

All four Pitt State athletes surpassed the NCAA Division II qualifying standard in the pentathlon.

Pitt State junior Drew Wilhite also finished day one action of the men's heptathlon in first place with 2,930 points. He finished first overall in a field of 15 athletes in the shot put (44-8.5) and second in the high jump (6-2.75).

The men's heptathlon action will wrap up Saturday morning.
