PUEBLO, Colo. – The Dynasty continues for the Pittsburg State University men's outdoor track & field team!
The Gorillas steamrolled through the competition at the 2025 NCAA Division II Outdoor National Championships to claim the program's fourth consecutive NCAA-II Outdoor National Championship Saturday (May 24) at the CSU-Pueblo Thunderbowl.
The Gorillas secured five individual event national titles on Saturday alone – and seven individual event crowns overall in the three-day championship meet – to compile 111 points. West Teas A&M finished as a distance national runner-up, the Buffs third straight runner-up finish, with 66 points, while Grand Valley State University finished third with 48 points.

Caden Williams, Hogans, Watson) all recorded national championships Saturday after
Hunter Jones (decathlon) and
Tre Betts (triple jump) claimed individual crowns for the Gorillas in Friday's day-two action.
Nyatushah (13.35),
Daylin Williams (13.45) and
Tyrone Jackson (13.68) dropped 24 points on the national field with a 24-point scoring outburst in the 110-meter hurdles as the trio posted a one-two-three finish.
Dylan Sprecker opened Pitt State's Saturday scoring with a third-place All-America showing in the 1,500 meters (3:50.61).
Watson followed with a new school record in winning the 400 meters in 45.32 seconds. Chatman added a ninth-place finish in the 400m (47.14).
Hogans then added a third-place All-America showing in the 100 meters (9.99), running a sub-10 second time for the second straight day; and he followed that up later In the afternoon with his national championship time of 20.39 seconds in the 200 meters.
Dakari Charlton garnered sixth-place All-America honors in the 200m (20.90) and he placed ninth overall in the 100m (10.17).
Calvin, the pre-meet favorite in the javelin, made good on his national title bid with a winning mark of 249-2. He shot to the lead with a mark of 239-6 with his final toss of the first round to advance to the finals of the discipline; and he punctuated his day with the top mark on his sixth and final throw.
Reed Mason placed 11
th overall in the javelin (214-8) and
Maddox Johnson finished 22
nd (186-11).
Cole Sample capped his decorated throwing career with a fifth-place All-America outing in the shot put. He entered the meet seeded 13
th but hit a big throw of 58-7.25 to reach the podium.
With the championship already secured, Chatman, Williams, Hogans and Watson closed out the meet in style by shattering the Pitt State record in the 4x400m relay and claiming the national title in 3:03.85.

Chandler Barnett and Markus Trieber, completed the season sweep after also claiming the 2025 NCAA Division II Indoor National Championship in March.
The Gorillas have now captured eight national championships, winning indoor titles in 2018, 2023, 2024 & 2025 as well as four straight outdoor titles in 2022, 2023, 2024 & 2025. Pitt State has reached the top of the podium in each of the last seven championship meets (2022 outdoor, 2023 indoor/outdoor, 2024 indoor/outdoor, 2025 indoor/outdoor).
