TULSA, Okla. - The Pittsburg State University men's golf team completed the first MIAA points tournament of the 2025-26 season at the Page Belcher GC, wrapping up the two-day NSU Classic in third as a team on Tuesday (Sept. 16).
Pitt State finished the day with a tournament score of -7 (845), placing third out of 20 teams and among the 11 MIAA schools competing.
Mason White finished as the team leading individual at -6 (207) for the tournament, finishing tied for 11th out of 109 individuals.
Nick Van Wyngarden and
Tyler Hardtarfer both finished +1 (214) to be tied for 31st,
Keaton Thissen at +4 (217) finished tied for 49th and
David Hobart at +6 (219) rounded out the team in a tie for 66th.
As a team, the Gorillas finished with 164 pars, 52 birdies and accomplished a pair of eagles.
Central Oklahoma claimed the team title with a -24 (828) two-day score, with Sam Sewell from Arkansas - Fort Smith claiming the individual title at -11 (202).
The Gorillas will next compete at The Hrnciar Invite in Duncan, Okla. on Monday (Oct. 6) at The Territory CC.
