Volleyball Announces Additions for 2026 Team

PITTSBURG – Head coach Megan Besecker has announced the addition of 11 individuals to the 2026 roster today (Feb. 24).
 
The new additions are comprised of five high school seniors, two Division I transfers, two junior college transfers and two Division II transfers.
 
"I'm incredibly excited about this recruiting class. We're going to have much more depth this year, and that's something that will really elevate our program. I love the balance we've brought in with a strong mix of transfers and talented true freshmen. We have some young players coming in who are ready to compete right away and make an immediate impact. The future is bright, and I can't wait to see this group get to work."
 
Jadyn Hazzard – Lincoln, Neb. | Lincoln Southwest High School
Enters her collegiate career with Pittsburg State after completing a standout prep career at Lincoln Southwest High School.

A four-year member of the volleyball team at LSHS and three-year participant with the track and field team as a Silverhawk, Hazzard on the court helped the team go 46-19 over her junior and senior seasons.

Named Academic All-Conference on the court twice and out on the track three times, Hazzard is a member of the National Honors Society, four-time Academic letter winner and four-time Scholar Athlete Award recipient.

The daughter of Laura and Brent Hazzard, Jadyn plans to major in elementary education at Pittsburg State.
 
Caileigh Kilgore – Overland Park, Kan. | Louisburg High School
Comes to Pitt State after completing a standout prep career at Louisburg High School. A four-year member of the volleyball team at LHS for coach Rich Brown, was also involved in the soccer team for the Wildcats.

For her career, Kilgore accumulated 672 kills, 422 digs, 78 blocks and 55 service aces. Part of the 2022 and 2023 substate championship teams at Louisburg, being named an All-Frontier League performer in 2024 and 2025.

The daughter of Laurie and Lance Kilgore, Caleigh is undecided on her future major at PSU.
 
Peyton Liming – Kansas City, Mo. | Austin Peay State University
Transfers in from Division I Austin Peay State University, spending her freshman season with the Governers in 2025.

At APSU, played in 11 matches, 27 sets with 36 kills, 22 digs and three total blocks.

Went to Park Hill South High School where she played for coach Barbra Bell. While at PHSHS, Liming finished with over 1,000 kills to go with 575 digs and a 30 kill performance against Liberty High School to set the school record for kills in a match. Named All-Conference and All-District during her time as a Panther.

Daughter of Nicole and Lance Liming and plans to major in pre-med at Pittsburg State.
 
Mason Palace – Wichita, Kan. | Kapaun Mt. Carmel High School
Completed a standout prep career at Kapaun Mt. Carmel High School. On the volleyball court for coach Heather Holovach, Palace was a four-year starter for the Crusaders.

For her career she amassed over 1,000 kills and 200 digs, for her senior season recorded 350 kills and hit .313.

A two-time All-State performer, three-time All-Metro and four-time All-Conference selection.
The daughter of Morgan and Adam Palace, Mason intendeds to major in business at Pittsburg State.
 
Leilah Perry – Shawnee, Kan. | Mill Valley High School
Will begin her collegiate career at Pittsburg State after completing a standout prep career at Mill Valley High School.

A four-year member of the volleyball team for coach Kylie Corneliuson and the Jaguars, Perry was part of the Mill Valley teams in 2024 and 2023 to win the Kansas 6A State Championship. Named to the All-State and All-Sunflower League during her prep career.

The daughter of Kelley Jackson and Henry Perry, Leilah is currently undecided on her major at Pittsbug State.
 
Avery Ringgenberg – Lee's Summit, Mo. | Johnson County Community College
Comes to Pittsburg State after playing two seasons at Johnson County Community College.

At JCCC, Ringgenberg was a third-team All-KJCCC performer in 2025 after recording 243 kills  and 104 total blocks (0.88 per set) in 34 matches. Part of Cavalier teams that during her time went 30-7 in 2024 and 25-9 in 2025, claiming district championships both campaigns.

Prior to beginning her collegiate career she was a prep athlete at Blue Springs South High School for coach Alexandra Moore. At BSSHS, Ringgenberg was a three-year letter winner on the volleyball court and soccer field as a Jaguar. On the court, she was part of the 2023 team that was district champions and earned All-District honors that season to go with being an All-Conference selection.

The daughter of Janelle and Mike Ringgenberg, Avery plans to major in finance at Pitt State.
 
Crystal Smith – Jasper, Mo. | University of Arkansas – Fort Smith
Completed her freshman season at MIAA foe University of Arkansas – Fort Smith in 2025.

At UAFS, Smith finished with 140.0 total blocks, 243 kills and 347.5 points to lead the Lions in each category. Among MIAA ranks, Smith finished fourth in blocks per set (1.32), 14th in Division II, 13th in the conference for points per set at 3.29, and second in total blocks among MIAA individuals, 12th among Division II ranks.

As a prep athlete at Jasper High School, Smith was a four-time All-Conference performer on the volleyball court and three-time All-State selection. Accumulated over 2,000 career kills, 300 total blocks and 250 service aces at JHS

Daughter of Kamey Thomas and Shaun Smith, Crystal plans to major in early childhood education at Pittsburg State.
 
Kaydence Torrez – Tecumseh, Kan. | Wichita State University
Comes to Pittsburg State after beginning her collegiate career at Division I Wichita State University.

At WSU, Torrez did not appear in any matches and will have four years of eligibility remaining.
As a prep athlete at Shawnee Heights High School, Torrez was a four-year member of the volleyball and basketball teams. On the volleyball court, she finished with 684 career kills and 252 total blocks.

Rated the No. 8 player in the state of Kansas by PrepDig, being the third middle blocker in the rankings. Torrez was a first-team All-United Kansas Conference performer in 2023 and 2024. On the basketball court was an All-Conference and All-County selection.

Daughter of Kristine and Christopher Torrez, Kaydence plans to double major in chemistry and biology
 
Jordyn Washington – Andover, Kan. | University of Central Oklahoma
Began her collegiate career at UCO but never competed for the Bronchos, will have four years of eligibility remaining.

As a prep athlete, Washington played for coach Kayla Weidert at Andover Central High School. A three-year starter on the volleyball court for the Jaguars, she was also involved in the track and field program at ACHS.

On the court, Washington finished with 175 career blocks and in a season registered 297 kills. For her career she amassed over 700 kills and was part of a program that won over 100 matches, claiming two substate championships and was a three-time league champion.

A two-time first-team All-AVCTL performer who earned All-AVCTL honors three times in her career while also being named All-State, All-Metro and All-Region.

The daughter of Roxanne and Mark Washington, Jordyn is planning on majoring in marketing at Pittsburg State.
 
Amariah White – Dublin, Ohio | Dodge City Community College
Recently completed a productive two-year career at Dodge City Community College, earning All-Conference honors each season.

Finished her DCCC career with the second most total blocks in school history with 258 and the ninth most kills at 451. A first-team All-KJCCC selection in 2024, earning second-team honors in 2025.

Prior to beginning her prep career was at Dulin Scioto High School in Dublin, Ohio. At DSHS, White was a four-year member of the volleyball team and three-year member of the track and field program for the Fighting Irish. On the court for coach Jackie Wilson, she was part of two district championship teams and a regional championship team.

The daughter of Alysce Craig, Amariah plans to major in chemistry at Pittsburg State.
 
Brynna Zoeller – St. George, Kan. | Rock Creek High School
Comes to Pittsburg State after a decorated prep career at Rock Creek High School. While a Mustang, Zoeller was a three-year starter on the volleyball court for coach Alli Snapp. Set the school assist record for a season with 1,040.

A two-time 4A State Tournament Team member and 4A All-Class first-team selection in her final two seasons. Named first-team All-NCKL as a junior and senior and was an All-Mid East League selection as a sophomore.

Named to the Rock Creek High School Honor Roll every year, the daughter of Susan and Trent Zoeller is undecided on her future major at this time.
