JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Pittsburg State University men's golf team completed the first day of the MIAA Championship hosted at the Jefferson City Country Club on Monday (Apr. 13).
As a team the Gorillas sit in 11th at +24 over the opening 18 holes. Central Oklahoma and Washburn are tied atop the team standings at +5. Lawson Barks from Central Missouri and Alphonse Hermansson of Newman are tied for the individual lead after the opening round at -2.
Pitt State is led by
Jack Randall at +3 (15th), after achieving an eagle, a birdie and 10 pars.
Tyler Hardtarfer +5 (30th) finished the day with a birdie and 13 pars.
Mason White +7 (42nd) recorded a birdie and 11 pars,
David Hobart +9 (51st) collected two birdies and eight pars, while
Keaton Thissen +12 (54th) rounded out the team with a birdie and seven pars.
Tuesday (Apr. 14) the Gorillas are scheduled to complete the second round of action at the Jefferson City Country Club, beginning at 9:40 a.m. (CDT) on hole one.
