Biography


General: Fifth-year player… a returning two-time All-MIAA safety who is primed for a big senior season… expected to secure a starting safety position and provide a veteran presence in the defensive secondary once again… has compiled 207 career tackles and 18 career PBUs… the MIAA representative to the NCAA Division II Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).

In 2015: Started all 11 games… made 81 tackles (46 solo) with 4.0 tackles-for-loss, 10 pass breakups and one forced fumble on the season… posted a career high 12 tackles vs. ESU (Oct. 10)… compiled double-digit tackles four times on the year… earned second-team All-MIAA and third-team All-Super Region Three honors (Don Hansen Football Committee).

In 2014: Started all 13 games… made 66 tackles (33 solo) with 2.0 tackles-for-loss, three interceptions, two pass breakups, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries on the season… posted a career high eight tackles vs. Emporia State (Oct. 11)… had five tackles and a fumble recovery return for a TD vs. No. 1 Northwest Missouri (Oct. 18).

In 2013: Saw action in 11 games, including 10 starts… tallied 57 tackles (26 solo) with 2.0 tackles-for-loss, six pass breakups and two fumble recoveries.

In 2011-12: Saw action in two games in 2012 before suffering a season-ending injury… recorded three tackles (two solo)… redshirted in his initial season in the Pitt State program (2011).

In High School: A second-team All-State performer as a senior at Raymore-Peculiar High School in 2010… also a two-time All-Conference selection for the Panthers… led RPHS with 100 tackles.

Personal: Born May 3, 1993… son of Donald and Sarah Washington… a five-year member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll… graduated from Pitt State in December 2015 with a 3.50 GPA as a electronics engineering technology major… pursuing a master’s degree in engineering technology.
