2012 Biography

General: Fifth-year player… a hard-working player who has evolved into a frontline performer for the Gorillas… enjoyed a breakthrough sophomore season in 2011… expected to contend for a starting role at defensive end this fall… primed for a big junior season.

In 2011: Saw action in all 14 games, including one start… recorded 46 tackles (18 solo) with 10.5 tackles-for-loss and 3.5 quarterback sacks and 10.5 TFLs… matched his career-high tackle total (six) in the NCAA-II National Championship Game vs. Wayne State (Dec. 17)… also made six tackles with 3.0 TFLs in the season opener vs. Missouri Western (Sept. 1).

In 2010: Saw action in all 12 games, including two starts… recorded 20 tackles (7 solo) with 2.5 QB sacks and 4.5 TFLs… logged a season-best four tackles vs. Fort Hays State (Oct. 23).

In 2009: Did not see action for the Gorillas.

In 2008: Redshirt season.

In High School: A three-year starter at Lincoln Christian School (2005-07)… recorded 72 tackles with 13.0 QB sacks, four fumble recoveries and one interceptions his senior season… helped the Bulldogs to an unblemished 11-0 record in 2007… helped LCS to a 9-2 mark in 2006.

Personal: Born April 9, 1990… son of Shawn and Charlotte Uzzel… a marketing major
