2012 Biography

General: Fourth-year player… a hard-working linebacker who continues to improve with experience… will look to battle for playing time for the Gorillas again this fall.

In 2011: Saw action in five games in a reserve role… made six tackles (four solo) on the year.

In 2009-10: Saw limited action for the Gorillas in 2010, after redshirting in his initial season in the Pitt State program (2009).

In High School: A first-team Kansas Class 5A All-State selection as a linebacker as a senior at Salina Central High School in 2008… also a first-team All-League performer at both fullback and linebacker his senior season… recorded 88 tackles (53 solo) with four INTs, including two he returned for TDs… helped Central to the 5A state title in 2005 and a state semifinal berth in 2007.

Personal: Born November 19, 1990… son of Curtis and Brenda Counts… a three-year member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll… has a 3.04 GPA as a physical education major.
