KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The MIAA announced its 2022-23 men's and women's Coaching Staff of the Year awards for the 2022-23 Indoor Track and Field season. Pittsburg State University swept the field and tabbed both the men's and women's Coaching Staff of the Year.
Pitt State won the 2023 MIAA men's and women's indoor track and field championships last Sunday (Feb. 28). The men finished with eight individual champions and scored 208.50 team points for their third consecutive indoor title and their sixth MIAA indoor crown in the last nine years. The women finished with six individual champions and scored 183 team points for their second straight indoor title and their sixth MIAA indoor crown in the last seven years.

The Pitt State men's 208.5 points stands as the highest point total in MIAA Indoor Championships history, while the Pitt State women's 183 points shows as the second-highest MIAA Indoor Championships point total all-time.

The Gorillas coaching staff includes head coach Kyle Rutledge and assistant coaches Brian Mantooth, Ben Barrows, Jason Crow, Jesse Miller, Louis Rollins and Cadin Gustafson. The Gorillas support staff includes athletic trainer Natasha Bieber.Â
Twenty-six Gorillas – 14 men and 12 women – qualified for the 2023 NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships that will take place Friday and Saturday, March 10-11, at the Virginia Beach Sports Center at Virginia Beach, Va.
