FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- The Pittsburg State University men's and women's indoor track & field teams wrapped up action at the Wooo Pig Classic Saturday (Feb. 7) hosted by the University of Arkansas.
In the men's action, sprinter
Ilias Garcia lowered his school record and NCAA Division II leading time in the 60 meters. He was clocked in a fast time of 6.62 seconds. Jumper
Johnetheon Lockett posted a season best mark in the triple jump, 49 feet, 7 inches, while
Caden Williams logged a season best time of 47.35 in the 400 meters.
Xavier Byers also equaled his season best mark in the high jump, clearing 7-0.5.
In the women's action, high jumpers
Jazmine Williamson and
Bethany Umbarger both posted season best marks by clearing 5-8.5. They exited the meet in a tie for sixth place in Division II this season.
At the 50th Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational,
Drew Wilhite wrapped up day two action in the men's heptathlon with a personal best 5,197 point total. He won the pole vault competition Saturday to help him edge past his previous personal best (5196) by one point. He now sits in fifth place in D2 this season.
