General: Second-year player … a talented athlete who made the move from cornerback to safety during spring drills … a hard worker who is primed for a big senior season … figures to be an impact player for the Gorillas again this fall.

In 2010: Started 10 of 12 games played for the Gorillas … recorded 40 tackles (19 solo), seven PBUs, one interception and two forced fumbles on the season … logged a season-high seven tackles vs. Missouri Southern (Oct. 2) … registered six tackles and an interception in his PSU debut vs. Central Oklahoma (Aug. 28).

In Junior College: Recorded 28 tackles with two interceptions and two PBUs as a sophomore for Dodge City Community College in 2009 … attended Independence Community College in 2008.

In High School: A standout prep performer at Junction City (Kan.) High School … registered 30 tackles and two interceptions as a senior in 2007.

Personal: Born May 31, 1990 … son of Timothy and Demetris Barksdale … a physical education major.
