Pittsburg State Gorillas

General: First-year player… a talented linebacker who transferred to Pitt State in January from Kansas State University… coming off a solid spring camps… expected to compete for a starting role for the Gorillas during his senior campaign.

At K-State: Played in 35 career games at Kansas State from 2016-18, after redshirting in his initial season with the Wildcats in 2015… made 20 carer tackles (15 solo) with 2.0 quarterback sacks, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.

In High School: A first-team Missouri Class 4A All-State performer as a senior at Carl Junction High School in 2015… made 100 tackles including 18 tackles-for-loss and 7.0 quarterback sacks during his senior campaign, helping the Bulldogs to an 11-1 record… named the league defensive player of the year in addition to earning All-League and All-District honors… also an All-State shot putter in track & field.

Personal: Born September 30, 1996… son of Vince and Leigh Johnston… a history/government major.
