Biography

General: Fifth-year player… a talented cornerback who will be expected to be an impact performer for the Gorillas again this fall… has logged 43 career tackles and six pass breakups.

In 2019-21: Started two of eight games played in 2021… posted 10 tackles (four solo) and four pass breakups on the season… started all four games in 2020… made 14 tackles (11 solo) and two pass breakups… saw action in all 11 games, including one start, in 2019… made 19 tackles (10 solo) and 1.0 tackles-for-loss on the season… posted a season high five tackles vs. MWSU (Nov. 2).

In 2018: Redshirt season.

In High School: A first-team Texas Class 6A All-District performer at a senior at Wylie High School in 2017… made 49 tackles with three interceptions and 10 pass breakups his senior season.

Personal: Born March 30, 2000… son of Mark and Ashanti McGrue… a construction management major.
