General: Sixth-year player… a talented safety who is primed for a big senior season… a returning All-MIAA selection who is expected to be an impact performer for the Gorillas again this fall… a 2022 PSU team captain.
In 2020-21: Started all 10 games played in 2021… posted 68 tackles (47 solo) with 3.0 tackles-for-loss, one interception and five pass breakups on the season… made a career high 12 tackles vs. WU (Nov. 6)… earned honorable mention All-MIAA honors… started all four games in 2020… shared the team tackles lead with 30 stops (14 solo)… added 0.5 tackles-for-loss and one pass breakup.
In 2019: Started 10 of 11 games at quarterback… passed for 655 yards and six touchdowns and rushed for 613 yards (4.6 ypc) and six scores… carried the ball 20 times for 110 yards and two TDs vs. FHSU (Oct. 19)… also posted a 100-yard rushing game with 19 carries for 117 yards and a TD vs. MWSU (Nov. 2).
In 2017-18: Saw action in 10 games in a reserve role at safety and on special teams in 2018… made 11 tackles (four solo) and one pass breakup on the season… redshirted in his initial season in the Pitt State program (2017).
In High School: The Kansas Class 4A-II Offensive Player of the Year as a senior at Frontenac High School in 2016… a two-time All-State performer… passed for 1,194 yards and 16 TDs, rushed for 1,211 yards and 16 scores and made 36 tackles, three INTs and one pass breakup his senior season.
Personal: Born December 16, 1998… son of Jeff Mlekus and Monica Maus… graduated with a bachelor’s degree in management… currently pursuing a master’s of business administration (MBA) degree.
