General: Sixth-year player… a hard working veteran linebacker who has evolved into one of the premier players in the MIAA… a returning NCAA Division II All-America performer who is primed for a big final season for the Gorillas this fall… a 2022 PSU team captain.
In 2021: Started nine of 11 games played… posted a team-leading 84 tackles (51 solo) with 12.0 tackles-for-loss, 3.5 quarterback sacks, one interception and two pass breakups… made a career high 14 stops vs. ESU (Sept. 25)… posted double-digit tackles three times on the season… garnered first-team All-MIAA and honorable mention All-America accolades.
In 2020: Saw action in all four games, including one start… made eight tackles on the season, including a season best four stops vs. UNK (Oct. 31).
In 2017-19: Saw action in all 11 games in a reserve role and on special teams in 2019… made 12 tackles (four solo) on the season… did not see any action in 2018 after redshirting in his first season in the Pitt State program (2017).
In High School: A two-time first-team Kansas Class 3A All-State performer at Galena High School (2015-16)… also a two-time first-team All-Crawford-Neosho-Cherokee (CNC) League selection (2015-16) for the Bulldogs… a 2017 Kansas Shrine Bowl selection.
Personal: Born February 17, 1999… son of Beau and Shelley Sarwinski… a member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll and an MIAA Scholar Athlete… earned CoSIDA Academic All-District honors in 2021… graduated with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics (3.80 GPA) in May 2020, a master’s degree in educational leadership in May 2022 (4.00 GPA) and currently has a perfect 4.00 GPA pursuing an EDS in advanced studies in leadership.
